You must activate your insurance before you travel to the USA. The insurance section in your application unlocks once your flights have been booked and appear in your account, so complete your flight request first.
How to activate
- Open the insurance section and check that your coverage dates are correct
- Choose the Standard Plan or the Upgrade Plan, then confirm your selection
- Pay securely by card through Stripe. All payments are charged in US dollars. Your coverage is not active until the payment has been processed
Once your policy is active, open the EGI Student Zone to download and print your insurance card. Keep your card with you at all times in the US.
If a payment fails, your bank may be blocking it as an international transaction. Tell your bank you are making an international payment in US dollars, try a different card, or use a US bank account if you have one.
